Markus Steiner from 3i Business Solutions AG: Top performance in sport and business

Whether in the sports hall or in business – Markus Steiner always gives his best. As the driving force behind the Junior Indoor Championships in Magglingen, the Managing Partner of 3i Business Solutions AG not only ensures smooth organization, but also supports young talents on their way to the top. An event that impresses year after year and produces new stars!

An event that shapes talent

With 800 members, the Biberist aktiv! sports club is the largest gymnastics club in the canton of Solothurn. In athletics in particular, the club always attracts attention: with championship titles, records and podium places. No wonder, because Biberist aktiv! has been committed to promoting young talent for years and organizes important competitions for young athletes.

From the beginnings to today

It all began in the 1990s with the UBS Cup in Biberist. The competition developed into one of the largest junior events in Switzerland, with up to 1000 children and young people taking part. In 2003, Biberist aktiv! then took over the organization of the Swiss Junior Indoor Championships in Magglingen. To this day, around 700 young athletes in the U16, U18 and U20 categories compete every year in the tradition-steeped hall.

Preparations in full swing

On March 1 and 2, 2025, the time has come again: the Swiss Junior Indoor Championships will take place in Magglingen. The organizing team, led by Markus Steiner, is in the middle of the final preparations. “It’s impossible to imagine athletics today without this event,” says Steiner.

Well-known top athletes such as Simon Ehammer and Mujinga Kambundji took part in this event in their youth. Promising talents are also taking part this year, including Lucia Acklin (U20, LV Fricktal), the current U20 vice world champion in the heptathlon, and Akira Eghagha (U20, FSG Bernex-Confignon), Swiss record holder in the 100 and 200 meter U18.

An event with challenges

With the growing importance of the championships, the demands on the organization are also increasing. In addition to increasing safety and sustainability requirements, sponsorship is increasingly regulated by Swiss Athletics. The administrative workload for the club has increased considerably as a result. Nevertheless, the event remains a key event for the club that strengthens team spirit. “The members get to know each other better while working in Magglingen and respect each other,” emphasizes Steiner.

Markus Steiner not only delivers top performance in the organization of the championships, but also in his professional activities. As Managing Partner of 3i Business Solutions AG, he uses his experience and leadership skills just as successfully in business as he does in sport.

A highlight for sports enthusiasts

The atmosphere in the hall is impressive every year. Spectators can experience first-hand how new records are set and future stars celebrate their first major successes. So if you want to be there on the first weekend in March, you shouldn’t miss this sporting highlight!

We remain excited about the performances of the young athletes and support the up-and-coming talent in Magglingen!
